				.	Design & Making across the Curriculum An interactive study of the Design Process

The main constraint on this project was that it was to be a website viewable by teachers with commonly available browsers. Resources available for this task included a diagram of the Design Process and a number of papers covering various aspects of Design Process and the Curriculum, by teacher Stephan Knobloch, as well as Lego CAD and lots of real Lego elements. By adding the small gear to the model, we have completed Step Two: Research Resources & Constraints.

		Design and Make a Model
		Many "design and make" projects require students to use knowledge ande skills from a variety of disciplines. In each of the design activities, there are many possible connections, however the activity is placed within a specific content area. The hotlinks under each activity locates a website of content standards.
	.	Language Arts	Mathematics	Social Studies	Science	.
		A simple sentence structure, a paragraph structure, or essay form color-coding the parts of speech.	A replica of a monument of choice to scale. Dimensions should be proportional to the original.	A form of government and the interaction between different branches.	A device which uses two simple machines and describes the amount of work saved.
		Write step-by-step instructions to recreate a model.	A symbolic representation of fractions and decimals in given equations.	Demonstrating the development of transportation in the US between 1700 and now.	Experiment which measures the speed and velocity of a model vehicle.
